Hall Electric

Services: Brand Identity

Year: 2025

Harry founded Hall Electric in 2012, based in North Carolina. The company is an unlimited licensed electrical contractor, specialising in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations.

Harry approached us looking to refresh the brand with a new identity.

He wanted the letter ‘H’ to feature in the logo. We both agreed that some form of electric symbol was necessary to clearly communicate the nature of the business. However, the identity needed to be clean, distinctive, and avoid blending in with typical industry visuals. While there’s nothing wrong with using familiar symbols, the key was to design them in a way that felt fresh, well-considered, and visually appealing.

We explored different ways to combine the ‘H’ with electrical imagery—testing concepts involving lightbulbs, plug sockets, and more. Ultimately, a thunderbolt offered the best balance between visual clarity and symbolic relevance.

The final concept is a symmetrical thunderbolt made from seven triangles, arranged to form both an uppercase ‘H’ and a lightning bolt. The result is a modern, clean mark that sets the brand apart. Crucially, the design scales well across different applications—from business cards to embroidered workwear.
